If you have a smaller space then this fern hanging plant from Kinfolk can be incorporated into a corner leaving the floor clear. A great tip for smaller spaces is to keep items off the floor where possible helping make the space feel bigger.

For bigger bathrooms a free standing bath creates a luxurious environment, perfect for relaxation. This bold bath shape exhibits unforgettable silhouettes reflective of nature’s undulating curves. Moving away from the typical shapes found in bathrooms, towards emulating those found in nature...It also allows for large plants to be placed behind and spill over the top of the bath, softening the edges and transporting you to a tropical rainforest.

Most bathrooms are dominated by chrome/stainless steel finishes. While they have their place in the interior design composition, there are now myriad options to be used to update your space. Here are some of our top picks;

Fancy completely transforming your bathroom? Rip it out and create the clean industrial look of a wet room shower enclosure. Opt for a matt black finish to add some serious style.
Milano Barq Wet Room Shower (from £309.99) - Big Bathroom Shop
Ripping out the bathroom might be extreme for many people, so why not update your current taps with brushed brass ones to add a touch of luxe to your bathing experience?
(£169.99) - Victorian Plumbing
If brass isn’t for you, copper or rose gold finishes work equally well. We are in love with the rosy glow that the tinted glass in this mirror gives you and how much of a statement it creates.
Zuiver Bandit Round Wall Mirror in Copper (£149.99) - Cuckooland.com
And there's nothing to stop you from mixing metals in your bathroom. You can always play around with accessories before committing to any significant renovations, particularly if you're on a budget but still want to update your space.

One room that can often be short on space is the bathroom but don’t worry, help is out there!
Here are some of our favourite bathroom storage options for the smallest room in your home:
If you're looking to organise every product a la The Home Edit, plastic storage containers are a must. You can either go for the completely transparent variety or discreetly hide products away in white containers.
ORTHEX SmartStore Compact White Storage (From £1.45) - Homebase
Just because you’re short on space, doesn’t mean you can’t have a vanity unit! Repurpose the wasted space around the base of your sink and create the look of one with an under sink unit.
Grey Wave Under Sink Unit (£119) - Dunelm
Small rooms often mean sacrificing size of radiators, so if you're looking for somewhere to hangtowels more permanently, we love this super sleek and slimline option from Next Home.
Double Freestanding Towel Rail (£50) - Next
Don't forget about the doors! If you don't already have a hook on the back of your bathroom door, you are missing out on great storage space for dressing gowns, towels and other bathroom accessories. There are great over-door towel rails, and you might even have space above the door for shelves, use every inch of a small room!
ENUDDEN Hanger For Door (£3) - IKEA
If you like to have your favourite products to show off, or even just to have easily to hand, you can’t beat a good caddy. Again, opt for a slimline design and it can slot in a small space with ease, or you can get ones that can easily be mounted on a wall.

When it comes to tiling a bathroom, it can be easy to be blinded by the many options. Do you partially tile? Completely tile? Go for patterns that are ‘on trend’ or plain and tailor to your choice of colour?
We’ve rounded up some of the hot trends for this year.
Herringbone patterns are on trend for pretty much any room you can think of, but no more so than in the bathroom. You can either use them in a wet room-style shower enclosure, on the walls or on the floor to create a stunningly sophisticated look.
Somerset Venato Grey Matt 7.5x15cm (£40 per square metre) - Tile Giant

A subway tile in a bathroom is a style staple but you can easily add your own spin to the classic design by using a coloured grout or opting for a coloured tile instead of a plain white one.
Flatiron White Porcelain Tiles (£35.28 per square metre) – Porcelain Superstore
Pink tiled bathrooms are definitely back in vogue but you don’t need to go full on Barbie to enjoy this look.
Embrace the trend by going all pink with your tiles and complimenting them with soft gold finishes and white porcelain. Or create more of a feature by using the pink tiles more sparingly and in combination with other tiles or wallpaper.
Craquelure Rose Tiles (£39.95 per square metre) – Walls and Floors

The look of intricate mosaic tiles is gorgeous, but you won’t love the time and hassle that foes into creating it! Which is why we’re big fans of the large porcelain tiles from Tons Of Tiles that give you the mosaic look on a grand scale, but with modest effort.
Hexagon Blue Mix Tiles (£25.99)-Tons of Tiles

Classic natural finishes like wood, marble, granite and stone always look great in a bathroom, and mixing two or more of them can create a warm and inviting space. We particularly love the look of wood-effect tiles used in combination with other natural finishes.

Is your bathroom in need of a face-lift? We’re looking at the latest trends in bathroom design to help you on your way…
It’s a new year, which means new trends. If you are thinking of giving your home a makeover, the bathroom is an ideal place to begin. The bathroom is more than just a place for having a shower and brushing your teeth. It is a sanctuary to carry out some self-care such as having a long bath with a good book and a glass of wine or to carry out your skincare routine. If your bathroom some of its ‘spa’rkle then join us as we look at the top bathroom trends for 2021 and see if any of these inspire you to make a change.
Bold and Brass
In 2021, we say goodbye to the traditional silver in bathrooms and say hello to brass taps, pipes and trims. Brass will look good in any bathroom design with its ability to be elegant or rustic, depending on where you source it from. No matter how you choose to use it, many now think it looks more expensive than that of silver fixtures.
Another key trend of 2021 is more unique patterns in bathroom tiling. For example, herringbone and hexagon join the ever popular subway and marble as key styles that make a stylish statement.
Last year saw an increase in the amount of pink being used in bathrooms and this year the trend will continue and develop with more pastel shades being used on bathroom walls and surfaces. We expect to see mint green, baby blue and sherbet yellow all feature in bathroom interiors for 2021.
Wallpaper is used everywhere else in the home so why not in the bathroom too? This year will see a move towards bold and patterned waterproof wallpaper. Are you brave enough to give it a try?
Homes are getting smarter and now your bathroom is too! Future-proof your bathroom with the latest advancements in smart technology
Every year we see cool, new tech gadgets on the market and this year is no different. There has recently been a wave of new technology tailored to bathrooms, each as elaborate as the one before. In 2021, you can expect to see smart showers powered by mobile apps and voice control, the world’s first ever smart bathroom mat which weighs you and provides beneficial health insights and exercise suggestions, and a robot that can bring you toilet paper on command. Now while we wait on those products coming to the market, some bathroom tech worth investing in are shower speakers and de-misting mirrors with integrated charging via USB ports. You’ll be able to sing karaoke in the shower to your hearts content, with your phone fully charged and a steam free mirror for when you need to get out and ready.
